We were excited to complete this Pilot Space project for Zebra Technologies; a forward-thinking environment designed to support a wide range of work styles and foster a vibrant employee experience.

Located at 3 Overlook Point in Lincolnshire, Illinois, this 16,000-square-foot space was brought to life through a collaboration with IA Interior Architects and leading manufacturers including Steelcase, Coalesse, and Steelcase Ancillary Partners. Waldner’s provided full services including furniture selection, installation, architectural walls, and the integration of phone booths and pods, ensuring every detail aligned with Zebra’s vision for a flexible, future-ready workplace.

A Space Designed for Innovation and Connection

Zebra Technologies’ Pilot Space is a testament to the future of workplace design. The space was thoughtfully curated to support a wide range of work styles and employee needs. From collaborative zones to quiet focus areas, every corner was designed with purpose. We partnered with leading manufacturers including Steelcase, Coalesse, and Steelcase Ancillary Partners to ensure every piece of furniture met the highest standards of quality, comfort, and design.

The layout includes:

  • Social Zones and Game Room to foster community and relaxation
  • Libraries and Focus Rooms for deep work
  • Private Offices and Workstations for individual productivity
  • Reception Areas that make a welcomed entrance area
  • Pods and Phone Booths for privacy and flexibility
  • Conference Rooms for productive meetings

The Pilot Space project received highly positive reviews from leadership and general staff. The various enclaves within the space were in use immediately following the dedication ceremony.

For the Zebra Technologies Pilot Space, Richard played a pivotal role in aligning the client’s vision with functional design strategies; collaborating closely with the owner, architect, and project stakeholders to ensure every detail supported the space’s dynamic and flexible intent.

Richard worked hand-in-hand with the design team to develop detailed specifications and coded plans and partnered with the project manager to oversee seamless delivery and installation. Richard’s hands-on approach: attending client meetings, site walk-throughs, and installations, helped ensure the project was completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
