The month of March is a time for celebration, empowerment, and recognition of women around the world. As a Women Owned Business, Waldner’s is thrilled to honor this occasion by shining a spotlight on the remarkable women leaders within our industry.

Throughout March, our ‘Women’s History Month Spotlight Series’ will feature various women making transformative strides in our field. Each spotlight will offer a glimpse into the inspiring journeys of these remarkable individuals.

Our next spotlight is on Jung Kim, Studio Director at MKDA.

1. What is the proudest moment in your career journey thus far?

“Being a working mom and raising two beautiful children for twenty years. There were many moments it felt nearly impossible to balance work and family, and I criticized myself for not doing either well. In time I gradually learned to juggle the two and give myself credit when things are not perfect. I have a lot of respect for the other working moms in the industry– they are my inspiration.”

2. Share a challenge you have faced in your career and how you overcame it.

As a woman of color and an immigrant, I used to feel insecure when presenting my ideas and making my voice heard. Then I realized that if I do my homework, know my stuff, and be confident, my inputs are taken as valuable.

3. What advice would you give to the next generation of women in the workplace?

“Whether given a project big or small, work with passion and take pride in what you accomplish. Don’t be afraid of trying things outside of your comfort zone and making errors.”
