Meredith Waldner Stern, President of Waldner’s Business Environments NYC is proud to be a leader in this third-generation family business. Established in 1939 by her grandfather, Daniel Waldner, Waldner’s has grown from a small local stationery store to a full-service office furniture solutions corporation with more than 100 employees in three locations. Waldner’s is a registered WBE office furniture company certified by the WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council) which is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled and operated by women in the United States.

She is ensuring that more and more companies on Long Island are not only more energy-efficient, but also that the products they use are safer for their staff members.

Under Stern’s leadership, Waldner’s was recognized as a “Family Business of the Year” by Long Island University. In 2009, Stern was recognized by the Long Island Business News, as one of the “40 under 40” business leaders. Stern also dedicates her time to several community organizations. She has served in a leadership role with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, an organization supporting 30,000 Long Islanders and their families who suffer from those diseases. She is also involved with the Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center, the second-largest JCC in North America. She has been a leader coordinating several events and efforts to provide financial assistance for families in need of preschool, daycare and special needs services.
