With so many incredible pieces of furniture in our daily lives, picking a favorite is no easy task. But this summer, we asked our team to do just that: choose the one product they simply wouldn’t want to live without.

This week we are spotlighting Alex Skaliotis, an Account Manager on our team!
With over 20 years of experience, Alex brings a deep understanding of both the manufacturing and dealership sides of the business. After spending many years on the manufacturing side, Alex found a more rewarding and engaging fit as an Account Manager here at Waldner’s. Alex enjoys helping clients create spaces that are not only efficient and functional but, thanks to close collaboration with talented designers, visually inspiring as well. Known for his attention to detail and a love of organization, Alex approaches every project with precision and care. Whether managing complex timelines or juggling multiple client needs, Alex ensures that no detail is overlooked. It’s this blend of experience and enthusiasm that makes Alex a valued partner to clients and colleagues alike.
Having spent considerable time with his top choice, here’s what Alex said about his favorite product, Gesture Task Chair from Steelcase:
If you spend hours at your desk, you know how important a good chair is. Steelcase’s Gesture is a game changer in ergonomic design; built to support the way we work today. Designed for movement and connection, it intuitively supports a wide range of postures and technologies, adapting seamlessly to a person’s workflow, all while being built to last with high-quality and sustainable materials.
There are three ways this chair moves with you, through the back, the seat, and the arms. The chair reclines with its 3D LiveBack function and built-in lower back firmness, mimicking the natural movement of the spine, keeping the back supported in its s-shaped design. Its arms offer 360-degree movement, allowing users to pivot them, move them in and out, and up and down, supporting comfort while working with various tech devices and interfaces. Gesture’s manual adjustments personalize comfort even further with its control of tension and variable back stop in the seat as well as seat height and depth.
Other key factors included are its lumbar support, seat ergonomics, recline adjustments, and adjustable headset. The Core Equalizer function provides the right amount of lumbar support in all angles of recline. The recline adjustments include three recline angle stop settings and an upright back lock. The seat’s ergonomics help make it so comfortable to sit in while working all day long. It includes flexible edges and foam with adaptive bolstering that makes for a pressure-free feeling while sitting. The headrest, an additional part of the seat, tilts with the head, adjusts vertically, and rotates 90 degrees to bring support in both upright and reclines positions.
With its unmatched adjustability and ergonomic intelligence, the Gesture earns its title as the best office chair. In a world where technology and work are constantly evolving, the Gesture stands as a reminder that thoughtful design can greatly influence our focus, health, and productivity altogether.
